Holistic Garden Care

Whether your goal is a healthy garden, productive orchard, native habitat, edible landscape or complete property management, our stewardship approach ensures your property is cared for with a long-term vision in mind.

Because every property has a story, and every landscape has the potential to become something more.

Why Nepean Landcare?

Our work is guided by three simple principles:

REVIVE

Bring neglected gardens back to life.

We begin by tackling the immediate priorities. Reducing weeds, pruning overgrowth, improving presentation and creating a solid foundation for ongoing care.

RESTORE

Improve health, structure and function.

Once a garden is under control, we focus on strengthening its health through soil improvement, planting, seasonal maintenance and thoughtful management.

REGENERATE

Create thriving landscapes for the future.

The final step is about long-term improvement. This may include habitat creation, native planting, productive food gardens, orchard development and projects that increase the beauty, resilience and value of your property over time.

Fraser Rickard is the founder of Nepean Landcare, based on the Mornington Peninsula, with a deep passion for caring for land, growing food, and helping people reconnect with nature through the places they live.

What began as a love for gardening has evolved into a broader vision centered around stewardship, sustainability and regenerative land management. Fraser believes gardens and landscapes should offer more than simply visual appeal, they should support wellbeing, biodiversity, food production and a stronger connection between people, nature and community.

Living and working on the Mornington Peninsula, Fraser developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the region and the role healthy landscapes play in creating vibrant communities. Over time, he became increasingly aware of how disconnected many people have become from the land around them, from local food systems, and from the simple value of caring for outdoor spaces in a meaningful way.

Nepean Landcare was created to help bridge that gap.

Today, Fraser works closely with property owners to provide ongoing garden stewardship, property management, edible landscapes, orchard care, native planting and long-term landscape planning. His approach focuses on creating outdoor spaces that are healthy, productive, resilient and enjoyable for generations to come.

At its core, Nepean Landcare is about leaving both the land and the people better than when they were found.

Whether it begins with a small herb garden, restoring tired soil, planting habitat for local wildlife or managing an entire lifestyle property, Fraser believes every landscape has the potential to become something more sustainable, more abundant and more connected to the future.

This work is also the foundation for a much larger vision:

The Collective

Healthy communities start with healthy land.

We have a long-term vision to create a healthier, more connected and regenerative Mornington Peninsula.

We call it, The Nepean Landcare Collective. It aims to connect local residents, landowners, growers, gardeners, educators and community groups to create a more resilient, sustainable and connected community.

It begins with caring for gardens and landscapes but has the potential to grow into something much bigger and more rewarding - a local movement focussed on land, food, waste, home, and people.

Through education, collaboration and practical action, The Collective aims to help people reconnect with nature, support local food systems, reduce waste, improve wellbeing and contribute to a more resilient future.

This is just the beginning.
